Arborfield Green Community Christmas lights

The Arborfield Green Christmas Lights event was held on Thursday 8th December 2016, signalling the first community event in our new garden village.  Around 350 local residents gathered on the Cricket Green to celebrate turning on the Christmas tree lights with mince pies and mulled wine.

The Mayor of Wokingham Borough, Councillor Bob Pitts and retired REME Colonel Larry Levar assisted Hugo Reeve of Crest Nicholson in turning on the lights.  Bohunt School Choir and the Arborfield Military Wives Choir entertained the crowd with carols and Christmas songs, getting everyone into the festive spirit.

Children’s novelty glow toys were supplied for a donation to Poperinghe Community Pre-school, raising £180.

A fantastic first community event that we hope will become a part of Arborfield Green’s annual calendar of events.
