Spring Community Fun Day

Arborfield Green was delighted to work alongside the Army Welfare Service and Wokingham Borough Council in the organisation of the Spring Community Fun Day on the 6th April 2017 at the community centre on Princess Marina Drive.

Around 300 adults and children from across the Arborfield area, joined us to celebrate Spring and the start of the Easter holidays.

Activities on offer included an Easter Trail around the centre for a prize of chocolate eggs, free face painting, a bouncy castle, Easter arts and crafts, table tennis and pool and a petting farm which was a huge hit with parents and children alike.

It was a beautiful day and many families stayed to enjoy picnics and games in the courtyard area as well as sample the delicious cakes and refreshments put on by the Women’s Institute.

In addition the local police encouraged children in a colouring competition, SureStart organised toddler crafts and the Community Wardens were on hand to answer any questions. Church on the Green, Barkham Parish Council and St Eligus were also in attendance getting to know residents new and existing and introducing their groups and services in the local area.

It was a great opportunity for many residents to explore what the community centre has to offer  and make new contacts within the local community.
